Shell's Hampshires ~ Buckeye Sheep Farm ~ Buckeye Border Collies

A family tradition

Who are Shell's Hampshires and Buckeye Sheep Farm?

Shell's Hampshires has been raising sheep for over 45 years. What started out as a 4-H project for Dan, turned into a family business that includes Dan's parents, Larry and Marcia, his brother Doug and his family, and his sister Deetra and her family. Shell's Hampshires is a 3-generation family farm We take great pride as a family in doing our best to provide good solid Hampshire sheep that are structurally correct, productive, show excellent breed character, and have adequate size to be competitive in today's show ring.

In 2010, Buckeye Sheep Farm was born when Dan and Marla formed a new partnership, combining Dan's Natural Colored flock and Marla's Southdown flock. In 2016, Buckeye Sheep Farm decided to go in a new direction - sell the Southdowns and focus on our Natural Colored flock.

Our interest in Border Collies began in 2014. We had one female border collie, Clover, and decided we wanted to begin raising them. Brutus was purchased in November 2013 at the age of 8 weeks old. We had our first litter in November 2014. In 2015, we added 3 additional females to our farm - Lizzie, Shae and Blaire. A new stud dog was added in 2016. Zeke is a tri-colored Border Collie that we purchased from Alan & Tara Wertz.

Shell's Hampshires and Buckeye Sheep Farm are built on integrity, hard work, and dedication to the improvement of the sheep industry. We welcome your inquiries into our flock and the sheep we have at the farm. We know you will be pleased!
